"To support the efforts of the Government of Côte d’Ivoire to control arms, the Centre, with financial support from the Government of Japan, developed a guidance manual on national standard operating procedures for physical security and stockpile management. The procedures were developed in line with the International Small Arms Control Standards, the International Ammunition Technical Guidelines, regional and subregional instruments and national legislation. “The Centre supported Burkina Faso, the Niger and Sierra Leone through the procurement of weapon-marking machines and the organization of national workshops on international best practice standards on marking and initial training.”
