Organization of American States looks forward to creation of ISACS


“It is hoped that the creation of a set of international small arms standards will allow a more coherent and integrated UN approach to policy and practice on small arms control and create a set of benchmarks against which to measure the extent of implementation of global small arms agreements...” [p. 3]

“Following a meeting held in November 2008 in Geneva–a broad-based consultation on drafting international small arms control standards, organized by the UN’s Coordinating Action on Small Arms Mechanism (CASA), the [CIFTA] Technical Secretariat offered its technical support in 2009 in formulating these standards.” [p. 4]
