Nepal and UNDP host first training workshop based on ISACS

POKHARA, NEPAL — On 2-6 September 2013, the Nepal Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nepal hosted a training workshop on ISACS for MoHA officials and senior officers from the Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, the National Investigation Deprartment and the Immigration Office.  

The workshop was co-facilitated by the ISACS Inter-Agency Support Unit, the Small Arms Survey and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), who presented the ISACS software tool.  

In additional to training participants on the substantive content of the operational ISACS modules (Series 05), the workshop developed a draft outline strategy and action plan for addressing the illicit trade, destabilising accumulation and misuse of small arms in Nepal.
