LUZERN, SWITZERLAND — The Multinational Small Arms and Ammunition Group (MSAG) is an apolitical, informal, multinational platform of States that exchange best practices and coordinate international assistance in the field of small arms and light weapons and conventional ammunition Physical Security and Stockpile Management (PSSM).

At the 17th MSAG Symposium, held in Luzern, Switzerland, the ISACS Inter-Agency Support Unit and UNIDIR made a joint presentation to MSAG States on the contribution ISACS can make in the area of PSSM, as well as first experiences in using the standards in the field and in developing and testing of a new software tool to facilitate the use of the standards.

At the beginning of 2013, MSAG incorporated ISACS 05.20 (Stockpile management: Weapons) into the modules it uses to train verification officers of MSAG States to conduct PSSM assessment missions and trainings in the field.
