Legal commentary on Arms Trade Treaty references ISACS

A new legal commentary on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) published by the Larcier Group in Ghent, Belgium, makes a number of references to ISACS in explaining the provisions of the treaty, in particular its Article 2 (Scope) and Article 12 (record keeping).

ISACS supports UNIDIR initiative on end-user controls

UNIDIR developing new tool to help apply ISACS, IATG in conflict-affected settings

UNIDIR has already developed the ISACS Assessment Tool (ISACS-AT), which allows governments to compare their existing small arms controls with international standards in order to identify any gaps that may exist and prioritise actions to fill them.  Using the ISACS-AT also allows governments to track their implementation of relevant global instruments, including the UN Programme of Action and the International Tracing Instrument.

UNREC seeks expert to help set national standards based on ISACS in the Sahel

UNODA’s Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa (UNREC) is recruiting an expert on physical security and stockpile management (PSSM) for its project on “Physical security and stockpile management activities to reduce the risk of illicit trade in small arms and light weapons (SALW) and their ammunition in the Sahel region.”
