Civil society coalition promotes use of ISACS in Pacific


The Pacific Small Arms Action Group (PSAAG) coordinates civil society initiatives to reduce the deadly impact of small arms and light weapons in the Pacific region.  PSAAG facilitates Pacific implementation of the UN Programme of Action on small arms and promotes activation of the Arms Trade Treaty.

This revised Handbook by the Small Arms Survey is designed to assist and inform policy-makers who are new to  small arms on the international agenda. 

Entry on ISACS:

"In collaboration with partners worldwide, the United Nations has elaborated International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS) to streamline policy- making, programming, and practice on small arms and light weapons control across the more than 20 UN entities that make up the Coordinating Action on Small Arms, or CASA, mechanism.

UNLIREC seeks Advisers with ISACS experience


In a “Long-term Agreement for On-call Stockpile Management and Destruction Advisers,” the UN Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC) states that, “All UNLIREC assistance is developed taking into account the UN International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS)” and prefers candidates with experience of working with ISACS.
